APSET is commonly known as Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test. SET is a state level entrance exam. Andhra Pradesh SET Exam is the gateway for the individuals to become a professor/lecturer in the colleges and universities of Andhra Pradesh.
AP SET Exam is conducted to recruit skilled and talented candidates for the posts of Assistant Professors/ Lecturers in universities, degree colleges, and higher Educational Institutions. There are 26 universities, 1192 aided and unaided degree colleges, 146 Government degree colleges in Andhra Pradesh. The AP SET Notification 2021 will be released by the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on behalf of Government of Andhra Pradesh. Andhra University conducts AP State Eligibility Test every year to recruit talented & dynamic contenders as professors/lecturers. AP SET is the compulsory exam for the candidates who are searching for Assistant Professor/teaching jobs across various Government Colleges in AP State.
Through the APSET 2021 Notification, the interested candidates will get the details such as no of vacancies, age limit, educational qualification, selection process, salary, application fee, etc. So, the people who are passionate about teaching can make use of this opportunity by applying for APSET Exam 2021.
As per the last year analysis, nearly 45,813 students appeared for the AP state eligibility test. Out of all, only 2,981 got qualified with the highest percentage of marks in Telugu and Science subjects. The lowest percent was obtained in the Linguistics and Mathematics. This year also the officials have applied permission for 36 subjects. But the UGC has granted permission for the 31 subjects only. Therefore, the AP SET 2021 Examination consists 31 subjects only. Andhra Pradesh APSET 2021 Eligibility Criteria
The First Step that the candidate who is interested in applying for the AP SET 2021 Exam is to check the eligibility details. Because AU Board accepts online applications only from the eligible candidates. So, Verify your availability and then apply for the AP State Eligibility Test 2021. Educational Qualification
- Candidates should have Master’s Degree from a University Grants Commission (UGC) recognized university with minimum 55% marks whereas 50% marks for SC/ST candidates.
- Aspirants who are doing their final year Master’s Degree are also eligible to apply for the exam.
- The Ph.D. degree holders who have completed the Master’s level exam with the relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks are also eligible to appear for the SET Exam.
- Candidates who have qualified NET conducted by UGC need not take the SET Exam.
- Aspirants can apply for SET Exam any number of times.
Age Limit
- No age criteria for the applicants of APSET.
In further view of a lot of demand for Assistant Professors/Lecturers in the universities/degree colleges in the newly formed Andhra Pradesh State, AU has prepared proposal to conduct AP SET Exam.
SET Selection Procedure
- The applicants will be selected on the basis of the score obtained in the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Entrance Test 2021.
- Only the qualified candidates of the SET Exam 2021 are eligible to apply for the posts of Assistant Professor in the universities/colleges of AP.
APSET Application Form 2021
The AP SET 2021 Online application form will be available from May 2021. Interested and eligible candidates have to apply online for AP SET 2021. Aspirants who are searching for the teacher posts can fill & submit the SET Online Application before the last date to avoid the server issues.
Application Fee
The registration fee for the candidates of different categories is as follows.
- General Candidates: Rs. 1000/-
- BC candidates: Rs. 800/-
- SC/ST/PH Aspirants: Rs. 500/-
Candidates have to pay the application fee through online using credit/debit card/net banking.

The Andhra Pradesh AP SET Exam will be conducted in the following six regional centers.

Andhra University APSET Syllabus
SET 2021 Syllabus is as prescribed by UGC-CSIR and UGC-NET. The APSET Paper 1 Syllabus is general in nature which is used to access the teaching/research aptitude of the candidates. SET Paper 2 & Paper 3 Syllabus contains the objective type questions related to the selected subject. The AP SET 2021 syllabus pdf consists of the following topics.

Andhra Pradesh SET Exam Pattern
The SET Exam Pattern 2021 is same as that of NET (National Eligibility Test) organized by UGC. Aspirants have to appear the test of their post-graduation subject only. The APSET 2021 Exam consists of 3 papers i.e., Paper – I, II & III.
- AP SET test will be conducted for 31 subjects.
- The duration of the test is 3 hours.
- The exam will be conducted in two shifts. I.e., Morning & Evening shifts.
- SET Exam paper is available in both English & Telugu.
- There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

The AP State Eligibility Test set wise provisional Answer key for set-A, B, C & D will be available Online. Candidates can download the AP SET Answer Key 2021 according to their set/Paper code such as A, B, C & D. The AP SET Results 2021 will be declared within few days after the completion of the exam. The AU Officials prepare the APSET merit list 2021 based on the score/marks secured by the candidates in the exam. candidates can find the Category wise and subject wise AP SET Merit list 2021 online. These merit lists will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in the above three papers. Andhra Pradesh State Level Eligibility Test Commission draws merit list to award Junior Research Fellowship for the NET qualified candidates.
Download APSET 2021 Rank card
The qualified candidates have to collect the SET AP 2021 Rank Card through online. Shortlisted candidates of the exam have to attend the further selection procedure such as the interview after the release of the rank card.
The rank card contains the details like name of the candidate, rank, total score/marks, photo & signature, etc. So, qualified candidates have to check the SET 2021 Score Card carefully before attending the next rounds. Candidates have to keep the rank card safely until the admission process over.
Validity of SET Certificate
