Earlier, Tamilnadu Public Service Commission was conducting Group IV and VAO Exams separately. But on 2nd November 2017, the officials have made an important announcement that they are decided to conduct both Group 4 and VAO Exams as a single exam which will be termed as Combined Civil Service Exam – IV (CCSE-IV).

As per the latest news, Group IV Exam is applied by 15 lakh candidates and VAO exam by 12 lakh candidates. Since the education qualification is only SSLC, 60% of the people applying for Group 4 Exam will also apply for VAO Exam. Tamil Nadu PSC has to spend about Rs. 15 Crores for conducting each examination. To conduct an exam, TNPSC requires a massive workforce of education and revenue departments. When a candidate doesnt get his/her desired post, he/she select his aspired post in the next examinations.

In this way, about 20% of the posts become vacant, and TNPSC again has to release a notification for filling these vacancies. To avoid all these circumstances, Tamilnadu Public Service Commission has merged the Group IV and VAO exam as a single exam. Due to this decision, TNPSC CCSE IV notification 2017 may delay for a few more days. So, I advise you to wait till the official press release through TNPSC secretary or members.
